Rising for Rights for Strengthening Civil Society Network in South Asia to Achieve SDG 6

Project Objectives

The program aims to strengthen the capacity of Freshwater Action Network South Asia (FANSA) platform and its coordination mechanisms to scale up participatory citywide inclusive sanitation (CWIS) approach in South Asia (SA) and beyond thereby leading to establishing itself as a vibrant South Asian Network of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)

Expected Outcomes

Outcome 1: Advocacy for Policy Action: Evidence-based advocacy efforts and engagement by FANSA Country Chapters contribute to an enabling policy environment for inclusive sanitation practices and improved access to equitable sanitation rights for poor, vulnerable, and marginalized communities - the target populations. Outcome 2: Strengthening Accountability for Inclusive Service Delivery: Improved capacity and involvement of CSOs and communities lead to stronger monitoring and accountability of public institutions at N/S/L levels, ensuring the delivery of inclusive sanitation services for the target populations. Outcome 3: Strengthening Institutional Mechanisms for Embedding Community Voices: Strengthened institutional structures surrounding CSOs and CSO networks contribute to sustainable advocacy for equitable WASH policies and practices in South Asia for vulnerable and marginalized communities.
