We particularly focus on women living in poverty in rural and hard-to-reach areas, to create self employment opportunities, build financial resilience, and harness women's entrepreneurial spirit by empowering them economically. BRAC International Microfinance operates in seven countries outside of Bangladesh.
The outcome of the BRAC microfinance program is largely positive, with significant impacts on client poverty reduction, especially for women, and improvements in assets, savings, and household income. Clients show higher rates of graduating from poverty and retaining non-poor status compared to non-members, and many use loans for productive investments. BRAC also focuses on financial inclusion, client protection, and adapting to client needs through digital services and specialized products like health and savings loans.
